Barack Hussein Obama Jr. was born in Honolulu of Hawaii on August 4, 1961. Following his birth, his mother dropped out of college. In 1963, his father, Barack Obama Sr., left to study in Harvard, and physical distance resulted in straining his parents' relationship. Obama’s father moved from Hawaii to Boston, and Barack Jr. and his mother stayed back in Hawaii.

While his mother returned to college, her parents started to take care of young Obama. A year later, Obama’s mother filed for divorce and married Lolo Soetero from Indonesia, another student in the university.
In 1967, when Barack Obama Jr. was six years old, he moved to Jakarta with his mother and stepfather. Barack saw a lot of poverty and disease in Indonesia. He attended a Catholic school in Indonesia.
Barack Obama’s half sister, Lolo Soetero, was born in 1970. Around the same time his mother, Ann Durham started getting home sick and decided to return to her own country.
When Barack Obama was ten years old, his mother sent him back to Honolulu, Hawaii, to live with her parents. Barack got into the prestigious Punahou Prep School of Hawaii on scholarship with the help of his grandparents.
In 1975, Barack got selected into the school basketball team and soon was made the captain of the team. In order to be popular he drank beer, smoked cigarettes and marijuana, and also tried cocaine.
In 1979, Barack Obama enrolled in the Occidental College, Los Angeles. He transferred to Columbia University New York at the end of the same year.
Barack enrolled in Harvard Law School in 1988.
He joined a Chicago based law firm and married Michelle Robinson in 1992. He also taught in Chicago Law School.
Barack Obama became the Senator of the State in the year 1998, and was reelected in the state of Illinois in 2004.
In November 2008, he became the forty-fourth President of the United States.
