What College Did Theodore Roosevelt Graduate From ?

Theodore Roosevelt was born on October 27, 1858. He was the 26th president of the United States, and is remembered mainly for his energetic personality, his vast range of interests and achievements and his progressive policies.

Roosevelt was born in a wealthy family. However, he was a sickly child and was taught at home. However, since he was physically weak, he took up boxing and other strenuous activities to build up his constitution. Later, he went to Harvard, where he got interested in naval affairs.

While Roosevelt was at home, he got interested in natural sciences. This interest was further peaked after he went on a holiday to Egypt with his family. The family spent the winter traveling up and down the Nile on an Egyptian boat. During this time, he spent a lot of time ashore where he gathered different specimens and practiced taxidermy on them. This is when he decided that he wanted to become a natural scientist.

In 1876, Roosevelt joined Harvard University with all intentions of pursuing a career in natural sciences. Here he took up different sports, especially boxing, but could not excel in any of them. It should be noted that Roosevelt did not play any team sports, and he was definitely not a champion boxer as he claimed many years later.

While Roosevelt was studying at Harvard, he developed an interest in politics. After he graduated from Harvard, he went to Columbia Law School to study law. However, he stayed in Columbia for just a year leaving to pursue a life in politics.
