Mayflower Compact Signer

Mayflower Compact is one of the most important government documents of all times. This document first brought about the idea of ruling of the majority opinion on the shores of the US. This Compact was designed and signed by the people traveling across the Atlantic Ocean aboard Mayflower. It was, however done at that time to serve their purposes.

The people on the Mayflower were actually colonists who were traveling across the Atlantic Ocean toward new lands. There were known to be 102 people on that marine vessel at that time. Out of them, only 41 people signed the Compact. The whole list of these 41 signers and their details can be found on the internet. For example, one of the signatories of the Mayflower Compact was John Carver. He was the leader of the Pilgrims and later became Plymouth Colony’s first governor. Another major signer of the document was William Bradford. He was elected as the Governor for thirty times after the death of John Caviar. As a matter of fact, he is the person behind designation of the popular American festival of Thanksgiving in the country.

The Mayflower Compact was endorsed on 11 November 1620 in the modern day Provincetown situated near Cape Cod. This was done to keep harmony among the 102 people on board. However, this little act of that time showed a reflection of majority leadership.
