Cancer is a fatal disease that occurs when the body cells undergo mutation and grow out of control. It can be either inherited or may be initiated through exposure to carcinogens. Cancer causes tumors and sometimes attacks the blood stream. Cancer can be treated during its early stages of attack through surgery, chemotherapy or trough radiotherapy.

Kylie Minongue: Kylie Minongue is an Australian pop singer-songwriter and occasional actress. Kylie Minongue rose to fame in the 1980s as an actress through her role in the Australian television soap opera, Neighbors. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005 which led to the postponement an Australian tour and cancellation of a Glastonbury appearance. She underwent surgery to remove the tumor and has completed chemotherapy. The cancer is in remission.

Lance Armstrong: Lance Armstrong, a famous American professional cyclist, was diagnosed with advanced metastasis testicular cancer in 1996. He underwent surgery and extensive chemotherapy to remove the diseased testicle and the tumors in his brains. During treatment doctors gave him 2 percent chance of survival. After his treatment he won the Tour de France for seven consecutive years from 1999 to 2005, thus breaking all records. The cancer is now in remission.

Nelson Mandela: Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela was the first president of South Africa to be elected in a fully representative democratic election. Mandela was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2001. He was treated with radiation therapy. The cancer is currently in remission.

Walt Disney: Walter Elias Disney was a multiple Academy winner American film producer, director, animator and creator of everything we know and loved about Disney. He was also the co-founder of Disney Production. He was diagnosed with lung cancer. He died in 1966 as a result of failing health condition resulting from cancer.

Ronald Reagan: Ronald Reagan, the fortieth US president, was diagnosed with colon cancer in 1985. The tumor was surgically removed. Due to early detection no radiotherapy or chemotherapy was needed.
