The coastal areas of Asia have been home to some of the oldest civilizations in the world. The river valleys were so fertile that people preferred to live here and cultivate by the river. Some of the early civilizations to have birthed in Asia are Mesopotamia, Indus valley, and the Chinese civilization.
All these civilizations have had several commonalities. They shared ideas in mathematics, and also in inventing the wheel. All of them progressed in the same way and same pattern. The Steppes to the Central Steppes region were inhabited by the nomads, and they could literally reach out to any part of the Asian continent. The areas around Siberia were not populated as it could not be reached. The forests were thick and dense. The central parts of Asia and the peripheries were occupied by Mountains and deserts. The Himalayas and the Gobi Desert formed a major barrier to the Steppes and the nomads could not cross over. So, people who conquered China, India and Middle East remained on this side of the Himalayas and the people who occupied the other side remained there. These people formed their own individual culture and traditions.
