If Belgium is the size of Maryland, then Finland is just three times of Ohio. Finland is a better place if you want to get lost in a country with absolute greenery. It is surrounded by thousands of lakes, marshy land, dense forests and rivers. The Samis were the first ones to inhabit this country. Later as Finnish speakers shifted to Finland, the Sami had to shift to the arctic region.

In 1809, the nation was ruled by Alexander of Russia .Eventually Russia soon got engulfed by the very famous March Revolution in 1917.This opportunity was enough for Finland to become independent on 6 December 1917. Later, in the year 1939, Finland was attacked by USSR after the former failed to agree to their demands. Finland has been known for creating some great artists and museums in the whole world. Art has always been considered with great respect and appreciation. The number of well built art museums does say a lot. No other nation would show so much of interest in this particular field the way.

Let us understand the ancient art of Finland by just learning a few things about the largest museum situated at Helsinki. This museum consists of 2 art schools. One for applied art and the other for displaying collections of Finnish society. This museum was open to the people in 1888.
